Oh dear, and please don't fall for the ad for umbilical cord blood banking. The best place for cord blood is in your baby. Wait for the cord to stop pulsating before clamping and cutting it. If you don't believe me, visit Midwife Thinking's blog here to read her post, Cord Blood Collections: Confessions of a Vampire-Midwife.

Really enjoying all of your blog! And a huge thanks for directing people's attention to the sneaking ads for artificial milk and cord blood banking.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you had such excellent midwifery care for your pregnancy and that you have had the community supported breastfeeding journey that your describe to us here.
Thanks so much for sharing!
sincerely yours,
a baby midwife
